1.jpgStep 1)

-We tried our best to show you what's inside this device, so if anything breaks you will know how to take it apart.

-We looked hard, but could not find siri in there. Perhaps she went hiding when she found out we were going to take her apart.

 Step 2)

-You want to start out by taking the two bottom screws out.

- These are not your regular screws. They are called pentelobe screws AKA 5 star screwdrivers.

-5 Star Screwdriver

iphone-4s-3.jpg Step 3)

- You will now need to remove the back.

- To do so, simply push up, and it will snap right off.

iphone-4s-4.jpgStep 4)

- You will now need a philips screw driver.

-You will need to take out 2 screws that hold the battery connector in place.

iphone-4s-5.jpgStep 5)

-Using the pry tool, you will need to pull up the battery connector cable.

-Where the arrow is pointed, a small piece of metal is holding the connector, be sure to place it back when putting it back together. Also be careful not to rip the cable.

Step 6)

-Use the little piece of plastic to pull out the battery.

-Sometimes it is glued pretty hard, but most of the time it should be a breeze.

iphone-4s-7.jpgStep 7)

-You will now use a philips screwdriver to remove 5 screws. These screws will release the silver metal plate.

-These screws are all different sizes so be sure to organize them so you know which goes where.

Step 7.1)

-After taking off the silver metal plate, pry up the little metal piece to reveal a screw.

iphone-4s-8.jpgStep 8)

-Next you need to remove two screws which will release a metal plate. This plate holds the doc connector.

-This is responsible for your charging port, home button microphone, and bottom speaker.

Step 9)

-Using your pry tool, disconnect the flex cable.

iphone-4s-11.jpg

Step 10)

- Next, peel back the flex cable. The cable is glued, and should come off by simply heating it. Do not pull too hard. Take your time as you don't want to rip this cable.

iphone-4s-9.jpg

Step 11)

-In this next step you will remove 7 flex cables. Be sure to be careful and only use a pry tool. Using a screwdriver or something else may damage the cables.

- To remove #4, you will need to use a pry tool and lift up the metal piece. It will come right out and reveal the flex cable.

iphone-4s-12.jpgStep 12)

- The little metal piece connected to the black wire is responsible for your service and network.

-DO NOT remove it with a screwdriver, and always use a pry tool.

-When connecting it back be careful and don't push too hard.

iphone-4s-13.jpgStep 13)

-Remove two bottom screws which hold down the speaker dock.

-Once removed, you can pull out the speaker dock.

-Be careful with the black wire.

iphone-4s-144.jpg Step 14)

- You will now need to remove some more screws (4). The red arrows are screws.

-There is one more screw that is holding the motherboard, and it is hidden, and hidden well!

iphone-4s-15.jpgStep 15)

-Guess what, this seems to be the warranty sticker. Good to know, but who cares right? Behind this sticker is your final screw in order to take off the motherboard.

-Using a screw driver, carefully (or not) peel it off. Once it is off you will reveal your last screw.

iphone-4s-16.jpgStep 15.1)

-There's that sucker!

-Once you take out the final screw you are almost ready to take out the motherboard!

iphone-4s-17.jpg

Step 15.2)

-When we opened up the iPhone 4s box, we noticed that there was no sim removal tool. That's okay, because the 5 star screw driver happens to be the same size!

-Simply poke the hole, and it should pop right out!

iphone-4s-18.jpgStep 15.3)

-You can finally remove the motherboard.

-Be gentle, it is fragile yet super powerful.

iphone-4s-19.jpgStep 16)

-Check it out, the brains behind beauty.

-Powered up by the all new A5 chip.

-We suggest you do not open the metal piece covering the A5 Chip.

iphone-4s-20.jpgStep 17)

-It's that time, the vibrator needs to go, well temporarily.

-No screws here, just glue.

-Using a pry tool slowly, peel it off. It should come right out.

iphone-4s-200.jpg

Step 19)

-Don't Panic! It's not that bad, we promise.

-Red arrows (6 screws, and 6 washers)

-Blue arrows (4 screws on the corners)

-Top right screw is hidden (see step 19.1)

iphone-4s-21.jpg

Step 19.1)

-There is another hidden screw!

-Use a screw driver to peel off the black tape to reveal the final hidden screw.

iphone-4s-step-20.jpg

Step 20)

-Final step to remove the screen.

-Pry alongside the entire screen a few times. This is a bit tricky. If your glass is cracked or lcd is broken then you can put some force into it since you are throwing it away. Otherwise be careful.
